Employment
SEA-Guide Apprentices must have a Contract of Employment with a Juneau-based tourism operator. That contract will allow you to attend Monday training sessions
Community Service
SEA-Guides support the Whale SENSE Pacific Region Program. This requires participation in a team project that is agreed upon May 1st.
Commitment
SEA-Guide Apprentices must attend all Monday classes/excursions to qualify for a S.E.A.G certificate and pin. Accommodations can be made in a case-by-case basis
Science Fusion
SEA-Guides are obligated to share knowledge and enhance the positive externalities of eco-tourism. Each apprentice will complete a summer data collection project of their choice
Training Hours
Apprentices must log 40-hours of boat skills training before October 31st, 2023. Training hours are self-paced and shadowed by USCG licensed captains
