Service Description

Comprehensive 9-day in-person training for mariners seeking a professional Merchant Mariner Credential including OUPV (6-Passenger), 25-Ton, 50-Ton, or 100-Ton Master's License. *PLUS* on-water boat operator training which includes practical lessons in how to manuever a vessel underway, depart and approach moorage (docking), handling vessels in inclement weather, and more. You will leave this training with more than just a Captain's license... you will learn how to physically operate a small vessel! September 14-19, 2026 (SABER Classroom, Juneau): Boat Safety, Deck General, Rules of the Road, Navigation General, and Chart Navigation which includes USCG exams (70% passing score). All books, training aids, and charting materials are provided. September 25-27, 2026 (Statter Harbor, Juneau): Helmsmanship: Line tying, vessel inspections and functions, boat handling theory and propulsion, docking maneuvers, departing a dock, spring lines, "at-speed" handling and planing, inclement weather handling and immediate onset emergency response. The harbor training portion of this course requires participants to engage in operation of an actual vessel while underway. This U.S. Coast Guard-Approved course meets the written examination requirement for the following National endorsements: -Master of vessels less than 100 Gross Registered Tons (Near Coastal, or Great Lakes & Inland, or Inland Waters) -Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) (Near Coastal, or Great Lakes & Inland, or Inland Waters). Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made prior to 24-hours of CST appointments. Missed appointments, students arriving later than 15-minutes of scheduled appointments, or cancellations within 24-hours of scheduled appointments will incur a $25 rescheduling fee.
