Date: March 15th, 2026 Time: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM Location: SABER Training Center- 2525 Industrial Blvd, Juneau, AK. 99801 Class Capacity: 10 This 5-Hour boating skills workshop is designed to build confidence and efficiency when trailering, launching, and retrieving recreational vessels. Participants will learn best practices for operating trailers and navigating launch ramp environments safely and courteously, with specific emphasis on Juneau-area facilities and conditions. No previous experience required! Course Agenda: -Rules and etiquette for Juneau’s vessel launch areas -Trailer inspections, routine maintenance, and customized checklist -Trailer systems and safe operation of components -Backing a trailer with control and precision -Pre-launch inspections and staging procedures -Safe, efficient launch procedures -Proper loading and retrieval techniques -Roadway travel with a boat trailer: Laws, weight and balance, and handling a trailer 'at-speed' -Classroom: Systems, safety, planning, and procedures -Statter Harbor: Physical demonstration and student practice Course Includes: -Laminated Pre-Launch Checklist -Laminated Trailer Inspection Checklist NOTICE: 1. Participants ARE NOT required to operate a vehicle, trailer, or vessel to attend this course. Vehicles and vessels will be provided by SABER for demonstration purposes only. Participants are encouraged to provide their own vehicle, trailer, and vessel. Any vehicles or vessels operated by participants must be in good operating condition per DOT and USCG regulation, including insurance, registration, Alaska DMV Driver's License, and CBJ Launch Ramp Use Fee ($19.22 per day) and CBJ Harbor Parking Permit ($5.00 per day) 2. Participants are responsible for self-transportation from the SABER Training Center to Statter Harbor, Auke Bay.
